It can appear that every service or product that could possibly exist is already being made, but have you ever tried to buy exactly the same garment, hi-fi unit, computer accessory, toy that you bought a year ago? Have you ever tried to buy an extra piece of furniture that matches the furniture you already have? it is often impossible. This is because manufacturers increasingly do a massive production run of an item and then that’s it, they move on.

Whenever you fail to find an item from now on a large light bulb should appear above your head marked ‘opportunity‘. Start researching on Google and see if there are any possibilities, many ideas will fall through of course before you find a suitable niche. I bought a book for 30 cents totally by chance and sold it for $200, I started importing this book from Cambodia until they ran out. A friend of mine found a niche listening to her daughters chatting with friends in the back of her car (Dolphin Pillows). Once you develop the entrepreneurial spirit and have had a few mini-successes you will start spotting niches all over the place. I thank eBay and Amazon for training me!
